We need a downtown to be proud of, PG's downtown lacks so much

initiate a recycling program like the weekly garbage program

Cleaner air

Make the downtown economicaly viable and liveable

Diverse, debt-free, safe economy.

Focus on the children.

Expand on the capabilities of this site and make it cellphone friendly. Propose questions to people through a message or a text 5 days on say Saturdays and ask for their input by the following Friday.

I want the city cleaned up especiallly the down town and I don't mean paint over the problems I mean clean up the crime and the street people put in a no loitering law if necesary

Listen to the youth! We do have great ideas, and we are the future.

Vibrant "Clean Air" downtown with no street people harrassing me

Encourage high density housing in downtown area

Inclusive, integrated, and innovative community encouraging civic and personal responsibility

A center for green energy and renewable resources.

A regional center for commerce and culture.

Use of more colour and zest add more art on outside sidewalks, benches, walls etc.

Less gang violence

Container sorting and forwarding hub

Clean up pulp smell

more dignified, permanent residences for homeless

Social and environmentally conscience staff/council

green

recyclables pickup

highway planning and city for trucks that stop congestion.

Transplant more mature trees into the city and ban wood burning for heat.

don't do anything that raises taxes!!!!!!

less polution

strong neighbourhoods/ healthy aboriginal-non aboriginal relationships

Don't care, we'll die in 2012 anyways

The sky is the limit....don't you think?

compost program so that food or able to be composted food will not go to waste

An amazing hockey town

Activity without money

1) myPG will have a safe and vibrant downtown.2) myPG will have diverse cultural opportunities to learn and connect with others. 3) myPG will have well-established international linkages and international partners. 4) myPG will have a strong economy

1. City needs to enforce adhere to maintenance bylaws! Must make landlords responsible. 2. People in the community have to take ownership(we all like it here, therefore we all need to take part in making things better)

Suggest that each councillor be assigned a specific aspect/ facet of the community eg: social, sport, educaton then focus on this aspect.

1. Fewer downtown roads to encourage more walking traffic. 2. Further trail system infastructure. 3. A real "town centre" 4. Better public transit 5. Increased population

1. Greater appeal & draw to the downtown 2. Higher quality of housing in the downtown 3. Safer and more diverse entertainment and social scene 4. Easier access to greener transportation 5. Divers & plentiful local foods

Services in both offficial languages of Canada; Beautification of City's entrance; Dynamic downtown; Trail systems improvement; Better Air quality

-Address underlying social issues, -Engage in sustainable business, -Build affordable housing, -Clean the city; make citizens proud to live here

1.People living & working downtown-terraced homes; cobbled streets; etc. 2.University/College provides all training needed to fill jobs

Central hub (with a pedestrian focus) with cultural/social experiences (rivers see Kingston river fron or Pentiction/Kelowna)

Clear misperception that PG is dirty, redneck

Fundamental shift in City planning priorities eg: Ontario community when Big Box store comes to town they have to build a satelite store downtown.

3 or more story businesses

Cleaner air quality

Thriving downtown with less homeless

People to actually start recycling

Factory capital of Western Canada

Promote PG and the North

provide a gathering place that will be used by down & outers, & a friendly police beat presence downtown

Better air = better downtown

Don't build RCMP palace, build many neighborhood depots

home to a science & technology centre

Forward thinking public, Visionary leadership, Respect for the earth, Active fun community, Not accepting the status quo

Vibrant downtown core, More use of public transit - less cars on the road, Mixed residential/commercial space downtown, Low income housing/shelters for those who need it, Better air quality

Current Visitor Information Centre is inaccessible (difficult to get to because of lack of turning lanes), poorly advertised and unattractive (the Williams Lake visitor's centre is stunning and by comparison sees many, many more visitors

Resource based economy – the economy here continues to be based on forestry. Need to diversify our identity from a forestry town to something else such as a Regional shopping centre, transportation hub, winter sports destination etc.

Urban Green-spaces and recreational access to the rivers

ensure all downtown buildings are rented to businesses. ONLY retail on main floor, offices on 2nd floor and above, residential above that. Create semi permeable membranes so businesses flow out into the street (in summer months),

collaboration with scientific expertise-UNBC

eliminate pg as a dirty air city...market as a clean air city

More shelters for homeless people

develop the downtown for business, tourism and cultural events, esp 1st avenue!!!

Cleaner air, but sill industries

Recognition of the impact First Nations have on PG (remember protocol and respect) Open respectful dialogue and consultation between city and FN's, Respectful that city decisions impact the region as a whole

1. Lack of cohesiveness in community vision – too many groups working in isolation. 2. Creating a realistic plan for implementation and funding initiatives. 3. Changing the mindset of both residents and non-residents – Prince George has a bad rep

More activities and things to do (this needs to include non-outdoor based activities). Family and youth based. More things to do for residents, tourism (which includes the friends and family drawn in from out of town).

PG Leadership. Establish a stable sustainable economy through diversification, balanced housing mix, such as affordable housing (keep cost of living affordable in general), diversity of people (Senior inclusion, Immigrant inclusion.

Food security for all

I am a young professional who is committed to living and working and improving PG in the long term

Accessible to natural environments. Prince George will have improved medical services and be the cancer treatment centre for the north. Prince George will be a major transportation hub from North America to the Asia Pacific

Innovative City Hall-open to new ideas and change. Railroads and heavy industry moved out of bowl. Aggressive promotion of eat local, home gardening, composting, urban chickens. Plant useful (coniferous, fruit) trees not ornamental.

1. Use buildings and infrastructure we have, rather than spreadout. 2. Downtown -people living there and market places 3. Nice mix of City and greenmix (go around bowl via green spaces) 4. Trees downtown 5. Connections to neighbourhoods

to be more compact - restrict sprawl, more transit- probably using electricity

safe healthy downtown, efficient city hall, cut costs, grow tax base

quit wasting my tax money on this survey and fix some of the roads, downtown!

use money for fitters and other equipment to reduce stink and air pollution and not for unneccesary studies

Creating an atmosphere of welcome for new business

interesting and quality stores downtown

renovate public library (it's the only FREE community space left. Make it better! It needs more room for people.)

better architecture reflecting the north

300,000 people, Thriving diverse business hub, Clean Air

Pedestrian-only shopping street

If downtown had an "Alive after 5:00" thing going, like restaurants handing out coupons after dinner in a downtown restaurant for couples to attend theatre, musuem, outdoor concerts, etc. I would definately want to come back to the downtown core

item: Continued AGRESSIVE enforcement towards gang/drug activity

public transit system to better accomodate pedestrians

world class medical program

spend alot more on street/park appeal and set some rules for individual property owners - depcrepid fences that face onto major routes are a big one for me!

Industry out of city limits

Industry out of city limits

fix road issues as they arise - many potholes never fixed this summer

More bike trails on the main routes so traffic does not hit you when riding your bikes.

Financially stable (sustainable) - relatively stable and reasonable taxes

tourist friendly community, museum needs to be about PG and area (why is it about dinosaurs?)

PG as a leader in small city, northern living, A community that cares for its citizens - all of them
,br> in need of an attraqction to pull people here

More sophisticated with a vibrant arts community, Diverse industries providing employment

urban riverfront, rapid transit every 10 minutes in the bowl, clean air & water

Expand my organization through further community involvement and initiatives to promote greener, cleaner alternatives to living not only locally but globally

clean air, compact community, Diverse local energy sources/reliance
,br> Industry improved emmissions (Provincial government must act with our assistance)

strong education base in post secondary-more unbc programs; law, veternary etc

Vibrant: revitalized downtown core (people living in the downtown)

Clean up the downtown, enough with all the studies and politically correctness.

Continue to pressure industry and all levels of government to recognize air quality as an issue and push for change

more amusements clubs etc for the teen and young 20's

help the people who use the downtown as home (homeless)

when i visit/work in PG (i live in Ontario), i spend my money at local independent stores downtown and try to avoid the big corporations in the "subrurbs

more family plans for tourists/ clean up our air / fine arts program

telling you about my ideas. we need something for tourists to do here. Encourage students and young families to live here and stay

Provide a Centralized medical system to cater to the boomers who will be retiring and want a reason to stay here.

stop talking about change & start doing

focus on recreation around the rivers

Community gardens in every neighborhood park
